Lindsey Hoshaw is an Online Content Producer for KQED Science in San Francisco. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona and attended UCLA where she received a BA in English. She then moved to Argentina to work for a small English language newspaper in Buenos Aires.
Lindsey returned to the U.S .for graduate school and after graduating with an M.A. in communications from Stanford University she lived on a boat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for a month to write about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch for the New York Times. All reporting costs were crowd-sourced through the Knight News Challenge-winning website Spot.us. Donations from across the country paid the $10,000 reporting costs to get Lindsey to the middle of the ocean for on-the-scene reporting.
Currently she writes breaking news stories and voices radio pieces for KQED Science. She’s feverish on Twitter at @lindseyhoshaw.
